Job Description: Automation Software Engineer

We are partnering with Raleigh, NC, professionals to fill the Controls Engineer position in our Process & Manufacturing Controls section. As a Controls Engineer, you will design, program, and maintain automated control systems for our diverse industrial client base. This includes programming new and existing hardware and software and troubleshooting and repairing client control systems. You will work on various industrial process control systems and program HMI, SCADA, PLCs, Servos, and VFDs while following all UL 508A control panel construction and design requirements. You will assist our Sales team by providing labor estimates and control hardware costs for new projects while maintaining compliance with NFPA 70E.

Hard Skills:

• PLC Programming
• Troubleshooting PLCs
• Investing in a UL 508A compliant control panel provides peace of mind to those working with electrical systems. It allows them to operate the system safely, avoid costly downtime, and prevent accidents that can cause damage to equipment or injuries to personnel

Soft Skills:

• Proficiency to handle being in a seated or standing position for a significant period
• Having the flexibility to travel to clients' nearby locations

The position is a contract job that renders flexibility for transitioning to a full-time status after a 12-month period.

Work Environment:

• Most professionals follow a standard workweek, beginning on Monday and ending on Friday, with set hours of 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
• A standard work week comprises of 40 hours, with any extra time being considered as overtime.
• Our priority lies with maintaining our largest client's satisfaction, but our growth in the Raleigh area is undeniable. There are four significant projects, apart from our main client, that we will be focusing on this year. Our long-term objective necessitates someone with an open mind and willingness to travel to local client locations in Raleigh. The roles and responsibilities include overseeing existing systems upgrades, setting up new packaging lines, and conveyor systems, as well as offering general plant support. The job deliveries will be done remotely and on-site, as needed. The deployment to North Carolina job sites might extend to a full-time job site position. Travel needs may come up to a maximum of 20%. The ability to stand or sit for extended periods is a must-have requirement.
